Watson’s largest scale work in over a year, Naked Surfer, Noosa Beach is both an accomplished and exceptional artwork, which follows from Watson's sell-out 010:COAST series.

Instantly recognisable as an artwork by the artist, along with superbly rendered figures and detail, the painting embodies the distinctive ingredients - a dynamic composition, dazzling colour contrasts, and erotically charged. 

Amongst Australia’s most popular beaches, Noosa Beach is the setting for the scene, and features Sydney engineer, surfer and nudist, Nathan Collette, who has appeared in numerous Watson artworks including the wildly popular Naked Life Guard. 

In contrast to the tense concentration of the life guard and the energy and movement of the ocean’s waves, the surfer appears still and relaxed. A shadow cast across his thigh and a visible tan line indicates his complete nakedness. We can imagine he’s recently retuned from surfing as he dries off in the sunlight.

Since his childhood, the artist has continued to return to Noosa Beach in Queensland, Australia, which has been a rich source of inspiration for his art. This important new painting will no doubt be very popular with collectors and admirers of his art at his forthcoming exhibitions.

Each Giclee Edition Print is in an edition of 45 and is numbered and hand-signed by the artist immediately below the printed image.  

Limited Edition prints are printed using archival museum quality inks on the world's leading textured art paper: Hahnemühle Torchon.

The quality of the Giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries. 

Sizes provided are the unframed image size.  A white border of approximately 4 cm is provided to facilitate framing.
